The video “Did You Know?” is an eye opening experience that shows you all these crazy statistics about the world we reside in. It gives statistics that really don’t seem possible at first, but then after you think about it, you realize that they must be true. The video shows how technology is growing at such a rapid pace!

The first statistic that caught my mind was when they talked about the college graduates from each country. The US had 1.3 million, India had 3.1 million, and China has 3.3 million! I had no idea how many people India and China have! The next quote that I found amazing was 100% of the people in India speak English! That just shows how English is a major language. Another quote that really surprised me was that the average learner today will have 10 to 14 different jobs. I don’t think that is possible, but I guess we’ll see!

RSS Aggregator?!

What is an RSS Aggregator? Well, if you’re like me you wouldn’t know a thing about it! The word aggregatemeans to gather into a mass, sum, or whole. RSS formats are used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, and podcasts. So, put together, we can conclude that an RSS Aggregator gathers updated content (blog entries, headlines, podcasts) into an easy to read and use format. The user just has to select the sites they want to have updated news from and they have it, when it comes out! No more searching the Internet for hours to read a few postings. Web 2.0 tools (such as RSS Aggregators) are important today because there is so much information on the web that it is very hard and time consuming to find what you are looking for. Some of the most popular web-based RSS Aggregators are found on Google Reader, My Yahoo, NewsGator, and My AOL.

When you want to subscribe to a web site or blog, just look for the indicators below.

Some sites that will help to find RSS feeds to add to your aggregator are Feedster, Blogdigger, and Sherch. These are easy to use search engines that will find what your looking for. So, go out and try it! You’ll be amazed at the technology!

review Picnik

Today I used the web ware known as Picnik. It allows users to modify a picture of their own and make specific changes to the picture. Picnik can create a picture that’s perfect to your standards. You can change the size, color, sharpness, remove red-eye, add effects, shapes, text, and it will save it to your computer . I really liked how I could add effects to my photo. I like going through and just trying everything, so if you are thinking of trying this website, try EVERYTHING!

With all that being said, I think picnik should add more features. I would like to be able to combine two pictures to make it one, that would be amazing! I would also like to see it make the pictures so that you can’t see the pixels when you zoom in. Other than that, I have nothing to suggest!

If you really wanted a good software for photo editing, you should look into STOIK Imagic 4.0. Its and integrated browser, viewer, photo and video editor. It runs at about $50. You can also buy PictureMan 5.0.2 PRO which runs at about $200. For more info, visit Stoik.

Reviews for Picnik are very good. Most people seem to like how easy it is to use and how much fun it is to play with. In Download, the reviews are very good, so check them out!

My overall impression for picnik is that it is a fun site to play around in, and to do minor changes to pictures. However, if you really needed to do some major work to a photo, you’d be better off with something more advanced.
